Elder Wilbur Phillips, Jr. has faithfully served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Delair since 2003. Through his unwavering dedication to ministry, he has become a respected spiritual leader and a steady beacon of faith within the Delair community.

A Heart for God’s Word
Raised in Burlington, New Jersey, Elder Phillips was educated in the Burlington City school system. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at S.U.N.Y. Brockport and Howard University. Driven by a deep love for teaching and preaching the Word of God, he also pursued biblical and theological studies at P.B.U. in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Word Bible Institute in Burlington, New Jersey. These experiences strengthened his knowledge of Scripture, enriched his spiritual insight, and further prepared him for the work of ministry.
At the heart of Elder Phillips’s calling is a sincere desire to help others grow in their faith and understanding of God’s Word. Through his preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadership, he continually seeks to encourage, uplift, and guide others toward spiritual maturity and a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
Serving First Baptist Church of Delair Since 2003
Higher education at S.U.N.Y. Brockport and Howard University, followed by biblical and theological studies, shaped Elder Phillips’s preparation for a lifetime of ministry.
Beyond the Pulpit
Beyond the pulpit, Elder Phillips is a devoted husband and father. He resides in Sicklerville, New Jersey, with his beloved wife, Angela, and their children, Lanei and Erin. Together, they reflect the values of faith, love, and unity that remain central to his life and ministry.
