Leading God’s people in worship through song, Scripture, preparation, and wholehearted praise.
The FBCD Music Ministry exists to glorify God, support congregational worship, and help create an atmosphere where the church family can lift its voice together in praise.
Worship Rooted in the Word

Music at First Baptist Church of Delair is more than a performance. It is ministry. Through praise, worship, Scripture, prayer, and preparation, the Music Ministry helps direct attention to God and encourages the congregation to participate in worship together.
Our desire is to sing with biblical understanding, spiritual sincerity, and musical excellence. The Word of God shapes both what we sing and why we sing.
Serving God Through Music
Lead Praise and Worship
We help lead the church family in praise and worship during Sunday services and other church gatherings.
Prepare Through Practice
Rehearsals give the ministry time to learn music, strengthen vocal and instrumental parts, and prepare to serve with unity and excellence.
Grow Through Scripture
The ministry includes biblical teaching and spiritual encouragement so that our worship remains rooted in God’s Word.
Build Fellowship
Practice is also a time for fellowship, encouragement, prayer, and building stronger relationships among ministry members.
Serve Together
Singers and musicians work together to support regular worship services, special programs, ministry events, and other opportunities to praise God through music.
Rehearsal and Preparation
Thursday rehearsal is used when the ministry is unable to meet on Tuesday. It is not normally an additional weekly rehearsal. Schedule changes are communicated by Music Ministry leadership.
Our Praise and Worship Team
Led by Ministry Director Ernie Dickens, our Music Ministry is made up of people who use their voices and musical gifts to serve God and encourage the church. Each member contributes to the shared sound of worship through preparation, cooperation, faithfulness, and a heart for ministry.
